Not as consistently funny as the first one - indeed, there are some parts of the movie where there are no laughs for a good 15 minutes or so - but there are about 4 set-pieces which are so laugh-out-loud funny the film should come with a health warning. In particular the 'dying of thirst in the desert' episode at the end of the film pushes the boundaries of visual comedy to the very edge. If you have fallen in love with these characters from the TV series and from the first movie, then you will definitely enjoy this movie too. A celebration of the eternal adolescent in all of us...

Film of the Week

The Conjuring (15)

Hugely enjoyable, genuinely scary horror flick that provides a welcome throwback to classic 1970s chillers, thanks to impeccable production design, a superb script, powerfully atmospheric direction, intense set-pieces and terrific performances.
