i was lucky enough to win 2 free meals at steakout in a raffle, so i took my 10 year old son, sammy, he had the steak platter, his first big meal, loved it,ate the lot. i had the 20oz fillet (well it was free)with peppercorn sauce on the side, the steak was perfect, but the sauce could do with a tweak (my only moan) great meal, quick service, give it a try. lee and sammy.
I have been twice now and i haven't been disappointed, the rib sauce is amazing!!, and the chips (which were average/good first time round) were fantastic on my second visit. The only problem I have really is that it is a little expensive for me to go often but I will certainty be going back when i can. Great atmosphere, great food 4 stars
We made a reservation for this place on Friday 14th May 2010 @ 9:00pm. Needn't have bothered as the place was less than half full.
The Steak was good and so were the fries. I am so pleased that I tried my Peppercorn sauce before putting any on my plate as it was absolutely rank!
Service was good. Expensive for what it is. Only two stars. Practically no atmosphere - and that is not good for a Friday night.
Having just read the other 'reviews' I wonder where these people actually were?
Just down in Bournemouth for a couple of nights.
Saw the restaraunt and decided to try!
Great atmosphere in the 'pre-dinner' lounge, and cocktails were v.good with a bar tender that knew what they were doing!
Got a nice table (not too busy as it was Wed)
We ordered surf & turf and rib eye, and were not dissapointed!
All cooked as it should be, accompanied with a very nice Rijoca,
Service was great, and will be returning very soon!
Have already recommended to people, and all have glowing reports back!
Keep up the good work!
We were attracted to the modern design and menu of Steakout, and cordially decided to spend our last night in Bournemouth here. I seriously wish we hadn't!
Initially all was going well, we were told it was a 10 minute wait for a table, and the place felt really buzzy, however, upon being seated (in the cheap seats by the front door, leaving us to endure an icy cold blast everytime someone opened the door for a smoke or to enter or leave the restaurant) It took about 15 minutes for our order to be taken, and then we decided we didn't want to eat in arctic conditions so asked to move, Which they catered for immediately in their defence.
40 minutes later, there was still no sign of our food (We had ordered a steak and ribs, not even any starters!) And when i saw the new people who had been sat in the arctic table receive their mains, and the couple who were seated after us receive their starters and then mains i asked where our food was, for it to magically appear about 1 minute later, not particularly warm (leaving me wondering if the waiting staff had forgotten to tell the kitchen we'd moved tables?) the "rare" steak arrived, medium well, and i had to send it back (a steak restaurant? Over cooking steak?) No wonder it had take almost an hour to arrive! The waitress didn't apologise, and looked annoyed i had the cheek to send back my steak (i also noticed the lady next to us also sent hers straight back too!) When it arrived, it was OK, but fatty and certainly not the kind of steak dinner i was expecting from the claims it was making front of house and on advertising. We then sat and waited a further 15 minutes with dirty plates (by this time it was now way past 10 and there was only about 5 tables of diners left!) We ended up having to end our own ordeal and go to the till to pay (very begrudgingly) £40 down the drain, on a evening that just made us mad from start to finish (almost 2 hours in total for 2 very average, very expensive meals) All style, no substance.
we visited this restaurant to sample their 'speciality' ribs. Only 2 other tables occupied had me worried and rightly so. The coke was watery, the service poor and their prices didn't match their web site. When I queried this I was told that they hadn't updated their website, how convenient, price difference of £5 is quite a big increase in my book! I wouldn't have minded so much had the food been good, it wasn't. Tough meat and had those chips been near a potato? If this is their speciality I dread to think what their average dish is like. Give it a miss.
