Our 2ND visit to the cafe. Very very disappointed. Have to be honest unlikely to visit again. We were lead to believe it would be busy on a Friday so advised to book. We did book for an 8pm table. Needn't have booked as there were only 3 tables with people eating. We were all squeezed together with hardly any room. The service was very slow and not at all attentive. We had to wait 15 minutes for someone to appear for us to be able to pay while we had a taxi waiting outside. The food was we thought was below average for the money and drinks far too expensive. I wouldn't advise the Salmon fishcakes for starter or main. Tasted and felt all too processed! The waitress lacked people skills and was very blunt in her address to us and almost threw the plates at us when serving.

Such a shame as the first time we visited we liked it.

Well I can't believe this person's comments as:-we have been there many times and service is always second to none. We have eaten the Salmon Fishcakes many a times and you can tell that they are Home Made just by the shape. The tase was lovely. The decor and comfort is very swiss for a so-called "cafe". Presentation of the food always looks like a gourmet meal. I hae only experienced waiting to pay once - but that's because the restaurant was full - as always. The waitresses have always been able to recommend meals and have been able to omit and swop around food that was on the menu - no problem! Maybe if the above person would have raised their issues from outset - I'm sure the restaurant would have swiftly put things right.

Went for an early lunch and were really disappointed by what looked to be a quality beach cafe/restaurant. The mussels were small, dry and overcooked. The roast special was also very poor. Nowhere near the quality one should expect these days and not a cheap meal either. Service not brilliant and drinks expensive. Nice view though :)

We went to the cliffhanger this week on one of the tribute band evenings. The food was good, the staff were great and the evening was good fun. This is the third time we have been on one of these evenings. On this occasion we found the music in between the cabaret was far too loud and we could not hold a comfortable conversation at the table. I do not want to spend the evening shouting at and straining to hear the person only inches away from me. Its a restaurant - not a club or disco.

I went to the cliffhanger this week for an evening mean. I found my visit fantastic. The menu is brilliant and the food is not only appealing to the eye, but tastes great as well. The service was brilliant with friendly helpful staff. Brilliant setting for any night out. Would reccomend to anyone!Fantastic venue!
